Wirelss probs - no internet connection.....

Thanks to all who previously gave advice...

Now actually tried it - followed the netgears set up and when the dialup box appears I cant log into the internet.

Everything on the router seems to be working - all the lights light up - my ethernet cable is plugged into the right bit.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks

    when the dialup box appears
If you mean the dialup box appears on your computer, you need to tell the computer to stop dialling a connection so it uses the router's connection instead. (I presume you had either a Dial-up or broadband modem previously connected direct to your computer) If you had broadband previously connected to your PC, the reason it can't "connect" or dial-up is because the router is already connected to your broadband connection.

If you are using Internet Explorer, here are the instructions for telling it not to dial a connection.
    1. Open up Internet Explorer. If prompted to dial-up, click Work Offline or Cancel.
    2. Once you have stopped the dial-up process, go to Tools then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Connections tab.
    4. Pick the Never dial a connection option.
    5. Click OK.
You may need to restart your computer, but once you have done that, you should just be able to open Internet Explorer and access the Internet without clicking Dialup or connect.

I hope this helps and I have interpreted your message correctly. tigermatt :)
