How can I buy 20 shares in Eurodisney as a present

I am looking to buy 20 shares in Eurodisney SCA as a present for my girlfriend. Basically its a novel gift and check out the discounts/priveledges if you join the shareholders club (requires you to own 20 shares) -www.eurodisney.com/en/0324.php.

I would like them to be bought in her name and if possible (not necessary!!!!) obtain one of those lovely share presentation certificates. I would prefer not to open a sharedealing account if I can.

Lets see how you can help me and thanks in advance.

  • What a cracking idea! 10% off hotel bookings is fantastic! Does anyone know the current share value?
  • The current share value is about 45 cents - I know companies like oneshare do a single share for about £40 but with that you are paying for a nice looking certificate. I've e-mailed the companies on the above post to see if they will let me buy a small number - hey at 45 cents I'm not gonna complain and I'll let everyone know how I get on.

Did you like the idea of the secret club/entrance? - sounds great!!!

The 10% perk would be good but also DLP do a lot of offers - theres extra days on at the moment. You'd recoup it in shops - well we would!!!!

Its also handy as in the packages they include breakfast and you have to get up really early - having shares and being a member of the club (15 euro) entitles you to a light breakfast - I wonder what their definition of light is?

I'd bet someone here owns the shares - we'll get there!!

we recently purchased some shares for our little one (only 30) and we did it through the bank. any main branch will have a shares adviser who will do all the paper work for you and as i held an account with the bank there was no charge. we have them in his name but held in my partners name until he is 18. we also bought them for the discounts you get and have been to paris and stayed on site at a really cheap rate and also we bought them because he is disney mad. hope this is some help.

  • Did this get you a certificate? I reckon it'd be a great stocking filler - p.s. who do you bank with?

yes i did get a shares certificate and i bank with natwest. they were very helpful and when it was all sorted they just debited the money from my account. i was advised by a friend just to ask for the shares adviser in the branch.

  • Isn't eurodisney in receivership, i know it will be bailed out by the parent company but i would be wary about buying shares in it.
  • OK, I've done it! Rang the Computashares phone number on the link provided above, bought the shares for £4, plus £15 admin fee! This will get me £80 off my February booking, plus loads of discounts while I'm there. By the way, they also do a gift service - so, there you go. What a great site this is! Oh, and even if they go down the pan after February, I'm not going to lose sleep over £4 of shares.
