Apple Store or O2? Purchasing an iPhone

Heya, I'm trying to work out if there is any real difference from buying an iPhone from an apple store (like Regent Street in London) or an O2 official retailer.
Are there any benefits or downsides, I'd think that O2 would be heavily working on commission? Oh yeah and I think I'll have to buy an adaptor to charge from the plug?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Can't suggest which is best, I do not believe there are any deals at either.
The phone comes with a charger plug and usb cable, including headphones with a built in mic so you can receive calls whilst listening to music etc.0
