i have a virgin card on the 0% deal ends in 2 months, is it worth calling and asking them to extend it or can i apply for another virgin card transfer the new cards money into my bank account to pay off the old one?

There's no harm in asking certainly, but once your balance was cleared, you would be in a much stronger position to negotiate a new low rate BT deal with Virgin.
In fact once you've reduced your balance to zero, courtesy of another credit card, Virgin will more than likely make you an offer. (This lender in particular has a reputation for market-leading existing-customer deals

Not if you already have a Virgin card account open. Your partner could do this though, provided that s/he doesn't have a Virgin cc at the mo
