Moneysupermarket.com Cashback - Who else has been stung?
Hi there. I am new to this forum (in fact any forum!) and wondering if anyone can help me. I changed my utilities (dual fuel) through MSE back in July 08. I clicked on the Moneysupermarket.com link from the MSE email I receive and applied for my new supplier.
Everything has gone through, but have received no cashback. I have just phoned Moneysupermarket, chasing up the £30 cashback they owe me. They have told me they will not honour it as I didn't click through from MSE. But I did!!!! I think they are just trying to wangle their way out of it.
Has anyone else come up against this? And if so, could you please offer me any advice as to how to get the money they owe me.
Thanks!

This is coming up quite a lot on here,
The only explanation if the link hasn't tracked is that you may have visted the MS site before clicking the link. I'll try and explain that a little bit better.
If you went to MS an did a quote, then came to MSE and used the link without clearing your cookies then the application would have gone through on the URL you used when you first visited the site. Therefore the link hasn't tracked and as far as they can see your not eligible for the cash back.
This happens quite a lot on cash back websites such as Quidco and it seems the general rule of thumb is to 'clear your cookies'.
I can only suggest writing in to see if they will honor it.

Hi I had a similar problem in that I received no payment long after a switch to EDF. I sent a copy of the email I initially received from moneysupermarket confirming the switch to EDF. Got a response from Ceri.Jones@moneysupermarket.com who sorted out a £30 payment into my bank account (apparently they had been experiencing delays in payment). Good luck0

Thanks for this MM. I did clear my cookies, as I am also registered on Topcashback.co.uk and know that I have to quit out of my internet before doing anything like this. I will try them in writing and post up if I get any joy from this. Thanks for taking the time to answer!0 -
Thanks Tony. It's always great to have a name to direct your correspondence too! I will try writing to them. Thanks for your answer!0
