all fine and then today I was sent a bill for £351 for 3 worn tyres??!! No mention of this at the inspection before they collected the car. I have no idea if 3 tyres needed replacing but this was not mentioned at all until now 6 mths later? Can they do this? How do I know that they haven't been driving the car round for 6 mths and now asking me to pay for replacements. Seems a random bill, can they do this?

I have rung them but am still waiting for them to get back to me and I am a little worked up at the prospect of an very unexpected bill for £351

Thanks

I'm not sure of the answer. But assuming the tyres were legal when the car left you then I would suspect they are at it. Get your lease out and start reading the dreaded small print.

Personally I would also have an issue with the timing as I think 6 months later is unreasonable.

I would be getting ready for a fight.

Thanks. The trouble is I threw my paperwork away from the lease car a few weeks ago. I was clearing my paperwork and saw no reason to keep it as it was all done and dusted 6 mths ago. I leased it for 2 years was very happy with the deal and when the 2 years was up they inspected, all fine, both signed that we were happy and they took it away. Actually they did send me an invoice for 12 mths car tax afterwards but I just rang and told them I didn't have the car any longer and also that I didn't pay tax for the 2 years I had it as it was included in the deal and they apologised and sent me a credit note to cancel the bill. Other than that no problems so it seems so random to send this bill now?

They still haven't rung back so I rang them and the man I need to speak to is in a meeting. Ggrrrr
