Application to switch ignored by Scottish Power!!
I applied online to switch to their Fixed Price plan at end of June and the tariff was fixed until August 2009. I printed out the tariff and the confirmation of the application screen from the Scottish Power website.
Now I've had a letter from our current supplier and I've realised that Scottish Power ignored the application to switch to them. Will they have to honour the prices I applied for seeing as I've got print outs etc or is it just tough luck??

Similar thing happened to me with Scottish Power a couple of years ago (they 'lost' our online application), and we ended up having to re-apply so not quite sure where you would stand with regards to the 'fixed' price plan.
To be honest I don't rate their level of service at all (troubles since day one!) - it took months of phone calls to get them to put the correct names on my account/bills - yes, they really were hopeless!!!
And then they continued to increase my direct debit payments every couple of months despite me being in credit - not happy.
I also have continuous problems with their online billing system.
Unfortunately on the comparison sites they still come out cheapest provider for me, so it's been a case of put up and shut up!!!Sorry if I sound like I'm just ranting, but reading your post reminded me that an identical problem was the start of my troubles with them.
You can only give them a call and hope they'll resolve this (to your satisfaction).
Good luck ;0)0 -
Thanks for your reply. That's the problem though isn't it? I'm tempted to stay with Eon as I've not had any problems with them. It's not all about the cheapest anymore, is it?0

so true!!! sometimes it's right what they say 'you get what you pay for'
hopefully some other mse's will give you some positive feedback on sp. . .maybe I've just been unlucky, but it does make you think twice about changing to save few pounds - you just don't know what to do for the best.0
