How to set up Talk Talk Wireless Router ?

Hi there

A relative told me she had just applied to switch from BT to Talk Talk for a home phone and broadband deal.

She will be getting a Talk Talk wireless router and I said I would help her set it up.

Can anyone with experience of Talk Talk tell me what steps are involved and as much detail as possible on how to do it so I don't look a complete fool ??!!

She has a Toshiba Satellite A80 (??) laptop running XP. It has an ethernet connection.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance !!

I am sure Talk Talk will send her all the details before the changeover.

If they don't you will need her username and password and also the name of the wireless router.

    This should also help

    Thanks for response.

The link to the posts on wireless routers will help me a lot.

So I can sound more knowledgeable than I really am when the details from Talk Talk arrive !!

    Thanks again !!

IIRC TT are pretty good at supplying the necessary Username and other things, all on the various letters they send before activation.
Also, I think there is a number you can call (has to be from the TT phone) which automatically gives the required details.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Thanks spud.

Will tell her to carefully save all the letters etc she receives and let me have a look before I start setting up.

I saw something on the TT website about using a cd which will hopefully be a easy to understand step by step set up process

I guess TT must be reasonably OK at making life easy for non-techie people like me !!
