tidy it up a bit and sell it private.
small cars like a corsa will sell all day long if priced properly. so under cut everyone in autotrader or just even match the lower prices. but remember yours is the sxi so it should fetch a bit more than just a base model.

if it was me i would price it around £2200 or very nearest offer. then take you wedge of cash into the dealer and re negotiate a better deal for the golf.

  • What Golf did you want to part ex with? Why get rid of a perfectly good corsa? :-)

Is it possible to go to another dealer? Some dealers are just tight, some cant do enough to help.

What you need to look at is the 'Cost To Change'.

Forget the values of either car, simply, you'll need to part with £xxxx to get into the new one.

How does that stack up agaionst a similar Golf at another dealer?

Then you'll have, at least, a fair comparrison.

Glass's is showing your car as £1795 in P/X (assuming it's a 2003 03 Corsa B). But most stealers will cut the price of your car because they will not retail it but kick it out to dealer contacts or place it in auction. Given the state of the car market £1.5k may be reasonable.

Have you got money to burn?

First off get the dealer to give you cash price to buy the car with no p/x then ask them at this price what they will give you for your car.

This is the true trade in value of your car and anything you can sell it for above this figure is 'profit'.
