Does anyone know whats happening with Ryanair's flights to Fuerteventura.
Currently all the flights after the end of January are not showing. Last week they were showing and taking bookings for dates after then.
I booked last week for a Feb departure and am a bit concerned they might cancel my flight. I don't want to book accomodation if they are going to cancel the flight.

Ryanair has confirmed that it will close all of its routes to/from Fuerteventura from 31 January unless local tourism group AIE honours the commercial agreement it entered into with Ryanair to promote Fuerteventura as a tourist destination.

Strange that they released flights for late summer 2009 to Fuerteventura a couple of weeks ago. Its win-win for ryanair though - because if they stop the flights they will still keep peoples money until the last minute ( gaining interest for them).
I suppose there is a chance that this will get sorted and the winter flights re-appear for Feb onwards next year.
If not , i have no doubt that Ryanair will leave it until the very last minute to notify me that my flight is cancelled. And then take weeks over refunding my money.
If my flight is cancelled then there is no way i can afford to book with another airline during school half-term.0 -
My interest was in going at Easter, so I'll be watching to see if the flights are restored. How much did your tickets cost and from which airport?

As i suspected my Ryanair flight to Fueteventura has been cancelled. I have just had an email telling me so.
It looks like they are pulling all flights to Fuerteventura after the end of January.
I'm glad i didn't book accomodation to fit with the flight. There is no way i can get other flights during the Feb school half term at a decent price.0 -

Ryanair announced this back in December.

They should have removed the flights from their website at that time (IMO) but maybe there were still negotiations going on behind the scenes although the news report seems quite definite that things were finished.0
