What has happened to tesco own brand and value peanut butter I have been in several tescos home and away and the shelves are empty even on mysupermarket it is no longer listed? Sunpat is 2.20:eek: far too expensive. I will have to pop to waitrose as it is the nearest place to me. Anyone know what is going on in peanut butter land as the price has shot up.

I noticed this - last time I ordered ASDA value peanut butter, they replaced it with their own brand (one level up) and I paid no more for it - result...MFW #185

Have another look at the prices of Sunpat, rev. I'm on mysupermarket and put peanut butter in and
the large jars come up at £2.10 (61.8p / 100g)
whereas the small jars are 88p (38.8p / 100g)
May be worth getting 2 small jars!
Saying that I did get peanut butter in Lidl yesterday at i think 99p for a large jar.0 -
Lidl peanutbutter is delicious. far better than other shop's own brands, IMO.0

i got the Asda smart price one a couple of weeks ago...haven't tried it yet but the Tesco Value one that I usually get is IMO tastier than any of the more expensive ones.

Quite agree. Aldi do a proper - and cheap - "American style" one as well. I have found that all peanut butter made in this country is totally vile. (Just my opinion, of course!)0_o0 -

Another vote for Lidl peanut butter here - won't touch any other make now. Very nice thickly spread on hot toast. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I've notice this for quite a few products in the last few months own brand products vanishing or not being replenished for lengthy periods and only expensive ones in stock.
Never tried Lidl/ Aldi peanut butter but have been perfectly happy with Sainsbury's own brand/ Tesco etc. I'm on these boards too often not to grudge paying £2.20 or peanut butter lol:rotfl:0
