hi i have 5-6 defaults and have 1 ccj for £450 - debt totalling around £10k
I have a current account with Abbey, dont ask how but i somehow got one. Im looking to open a basic account but got declined with lloyds, i have checked my credit file and i now have 5 CIFAs Warnings on their which i presume is pretty bad, not that my file can be any worse. Just wondering if there are any accounts i could try with success. Except Yorkshire bank and the coop. cheers not asking for much lol would be happy with the barlcays one???

what are the CIFAS warnings for?0

not sure to be honest it simply states the name of the company i applied to in the last few weeks. I never lied on my application as they only wanted the last 3 years records for my address. The only thing i can think of is that i never mentioned my previous ones?0

Does it state the reason i.e application fraud or ID fraud or something?0

Barclays do a basic account, but with a record of fraud its unlikely you will get any account try ring the companies and ask them why they have put on there.0

no nothing just my personal details?0

We have a natwest step account, but although our credit rating is pretty rubbish think our last ccj dropped off prior to our application so we probably have a slightly better score than you? The step account is smashing we get a solo card (never had any problems getting this accepted as it is maestro as well) plus online banking and can have direct debits and standing orders etc.
However I think the CFAS warnings are going to bar you from pretty much all financial products they are pretty serious.
Probably worth a letter to the company who put them on to ask why? Perhaps it is an error, or something you put on the form didn't match with other info on your credit file? You may be able to get them to remove them it or challenge the entry via experion and the DP commissioner.
good luck

oh, get onto those companies if you think its wrong, this will have a determental affect against you. Even basic accounts, you can't have record of fraud, or undischarged bankrupt, ive add a link which has all the basic accounts on and what you get with those accounts http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf
