Depositing cash via ATM

Does anyone know if I can deposit cash into my Abbey account using an ATM. I haven't used this account for several years and can't remember (although I'm sure I used to do this). I tried on my Barclays account last week but their ATM's don't offer this facility.

Yes, you can!
The ATM will give you an envelope, you put the money in (no coins) type in how much you are going to deposit and the ATM will spit out a receipt.
The next working day, the envelopes get opened and checked by at least two members of staff and your account will be credited.
Watch out - The transaction it is not instant, like cash paid-in with the cashier.0 -
Thanks - don't mind that it's not instant. It's our emergency fund for when we're in Florida (which we hopefully won't need to use) and my hubby gets paid on Friday (the day we fly) so need to pay in at about 6am!!xxx Nikki xxx0

If you have not used this account for a while you need to check it is still active. You do not want to get to Florida and not be able to access the money. Give Abbey a ring and ask them to check account is ok to use.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0

Thanks - will give them a call in the morning.xxx Nikki xxx0

Cash deposits in an Abbey cashpoint take two working days to clear, not including the day you carry out the transaction.0

So if I pay the money in on Friday it will clear by Tuesday? If that's the case I can live with that as Barclays told me that if they do a funds transfer it will take approx 5-7 working days to clear!!
Have checked with Abbey and the account is still live so it's looking good for Florida!xxx Nikki xxx0 -

This is incorrect. My apologies.
Abbey is not currently active for Faster Payments, so a transfer to them would take the traditional 3 days. What would William Shatner do?0
