Fast pay is free-so why didn't they mention it?

I have a current account mortgage and bank account with The one account and today rang up to transfer some money into my daughters account
..

The adviser said "do you want the same day transfer,£20, or the three day transfer?"

Because I know about fastpay,I said "what about fastpay" she replied "oh yes, thats much quicker now.£50 will be transferred between 15 seconds and two hours" (its free)

Its not the first time they have ommitted to mention fast pay, should they?

This does sound like a cheeky way of making a few quid.

Although not all banks are set up for Faster Payments yet. I believe the One Account is RBS, who are fully set up - but banks like Co-op and Abbey are not.

See HERE for a sort code checker.

They still consider 'same day' to be via CHAPS .... as not all accounts accept Faster Payment.

Can't you do it online? Much easier as you control it - and much safer that no one runs the risk of mishearing / misunderstanding the target account.
