Food Poisoning - vent!

Hello!
I'm lying on the sofa under 2 blankets and a duvet feeling very sorry for myself! Yesterday I had the dreaded food poisoning! I was driving back from my parents house (3 1/2hrs away) and I started to feel poorly sick. By the time I got home it had *hit* fully and I spent all of yesterday evening and night in some very undignified positions
accompanied with shivers, shakes, fever and agonising pain. I actually thought I was going to chuck up my lungs! (apologies!)
My boyfriend was raging as I was soooo ill (bless him!) and I must admit, today I'm pretty annoyed. I've had to have the day off work because I didn't get any sleep and I'm sure work think it's an excuse! What can I do about this! It could be one of two places - either the curry I went for Sat night or the Asda Sausage roll I ate Sunday lunch time. It just makes me so mad that people can have such poor food hygeine! I have felt so bad for hours now all because someones filthy hands/poor cooking/reheating went into food I paid for!!
Should I complain? To who? Probably can't can I? Also... does anybody have a magic spell to make me better pretty please??
Sulk

Not meaning to cause offense, but did you not eat at your parents house? It might have been from something you ate there!
Not sure what you can do really.0 -
I'd just get on with it. We've all had it at one point or another. When I've been ill once I'm better I carry on as normal, not then devote my time to who I can blame.0

So all you have had since Friday is a curry & a sausage roll? That's all you've eaten? Sometimes food poisoning takes a couple of days to hit you - perhaps it was even something you ate on Friday?nothing to see here, move along...0

It takes 24-48 hours for you to feel ill from food poisoning, after eating the offending item. So its not what you ate sunday/late saturday, its probably something from Friday, possibly early saturday morning!0

If you feel it was the curry that gave yers the works, then have a look at this film, will put the sile back on yer face.

failing that, 5 pints of Uley Old Spot would ease the flow.0 -
Not necessarily true...it depends a range of factors. According to the NHS, depending on the the type of food poisoning bacteria it can be anything from 30 minutes up to a week. Most commonly its 12-48 hours which can make it difficult to pinpoint the cause exactlymissjennipenni wrote: »It takes 24-48 hours for you to feel ill from food poisoning, after eating the offending item. Sorry you're feeling bad spugzbunny, hopefully you'll be feeling better in a day or two. There are some good tips on self-treatment here on the NHS Direct website.0 -
Go sue the curry house, asda oh and your parents because they are the 3 places you ate.
Give it up and get well soon!0 -

Not always the case - I had a really bad case of food poisoning when i first went on a foreign hoilday to Spain when I was 19 - only 6 hours between consumption of the offending item (A burger that had a strange/odd metallic taste), and the onset of symptoms. Lesson that I learnt - if meat has a metallic taste, don't, for the love of god, eat it!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
It could Just be the winter vomiting virus. That comes over you suddenly and has the same symptoms you've described.2012 wins! can of deodorant, a personalised Bean, craft show tickets, Top Gear Live Tickets, Case of sourz fusion0
