    Hi

Bar work should be avaliable at this time of year which would give you time to get home and eat before you start.

Does your other half know the extent of your problems would things look better if you did a joint SOA?

    Thanks again for the replies.

I am just about to start the process of trying to reclaim my PPI, which was missold ... on that horrendous secured loan.

I was advised by Picture that if I didn't take it I'd pay a higher rate.

I've already contacted Picture to try to cancel it, but they said I couldn't.

Not sure if it goes through that I'll be able to cancel my PPI, but that would bring my payments down quite a bit.

It's by far the worst decision I've ever made, but I won't let it get me down. I am determined to get out of this.

I'd like to ask if you could all be my "support group" though, I'm gonna need it.

PS I'm currently looking around for either Bar work or shop work on the weekend, but lots of places say that with the credit crunch, they're not finding a need for more staff at the moment :(

    HI Spendy

Just wanted to pop in and say hello!

It's great to see you so determined to address the debt. Here's a few more ideas for you.

As well as looking for a new job start looking at selling things - Amazon is great for selling books and ebay for other things.
See if you can get things that you need for free from Freecycle.
The Old Style Board is great for saving money on food and other top tips.

This site can be very addictive. Spend time on here and look at all the ways people save money and make money to deal with their debts.

The road is going to be long and there are times that you really will feel like you are climbing up very very steep hills but you will get there.

Keep posting and good luck wit the DFW journey.

Would you consider selling your car and using public transport instead? Buying a zonecard or other saver card will possibly work out a lot cheaper than car insurance and petrol.

I really really wish I could sell my car, but there is no bus service that will allow me to drop my son to school and get to work on time.

I worked it out and I won't get to work until close to 10am.

Also, can't rely on my o/h as he goes to work at 6am, so that won't help either.
  • Yeah, it's awkward when you don't have a good bus service locally. :(
