Cheap catalytic converter

Hi, was wondering if any one can help, my catalytic converter has recently stated rattling and would like to know the best place to get a new one fitted at a reasonalble cost, a couple of local garages have quoted in excess of £250 , any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, TIA

hi, they had it up on the ramp in STS Tyres yesterday, he also pointed out corrosion to the centre and tail pipes but i think the're winging it on these....0 -
You can get cheapie brand new non-original cats off the net but you'd be well advised getting a back street garage to fit it (wouldn't be easy diy). I have my doubts about their likely longevity though and you may be better getting one off a scrap yard as mentioned above.0

get a second opinion on that rather than sts tyres0

Just be aware that the cheapy ones can have a very short life and you may find you need to replace it to pass an MOT emissions test in a couple of years time.0

I have used this company several times now, they have cheap cats, they also have great customer service and theyre guaranteed for at least a year. The cats I got for a Peugeot and two fords are still working perfectly after 2 years as they are family cars I know this, and one of them is on my mondeo which is now through it's second mot with no problems whatsoever, http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/ I have tried second hand ones and have been stung with them not working, personally it's not something I would try again.0
