Has anyone ever used 'rapidbargain.com'?

I was directed to this site whilst searching for a playstation 3 that is backwards compatible.. it did look quite good.. now, however, I think that I have wasted my money (you had to buy bid-bundles before you can bid) I foolishly thought that my money would be 'banked' for a successful auction, but it doesnt seem to work like that... have I just bought the right to bid for items?? to make things worse..there has been no more playstation 3's in the auction since I bought my bid-bundle.

  • Though I'd share my experience.

I had a look at this site a few weeks back and thought I'd have a go.

I went ahead and lodged £20 and bid on a laptop but didn't win it. When the auction finished, I got "Credits" for my £20. These basically build up in your account and are then deducted from the end price of an auction.

I then had another go, and this time I lodged £100. I bid away on a Wii Console this time but didn't win either. I (like some of the other posters here) though I'd been scammed.

Anyway, I went ahead and bid on an XBOX and after 7 bids I won it - for £44.60!!!! Anyway, after adding the postage and taking away the Credits I had, I had to pay £8.45 for it.

The XBOX arrived in about a week by Special Delivery. It was brand new and still had the seals and everything on it so no difficulties there.

    Synopsis

Anyway, bottom line from my experience is that the site does indeed work. The items do arrive and I really don't think the ones running it are out to scam people.

I do believe that people could potentially lodge large amounts and not win anything, so I would suggest people set a limit on how much they spend and not exceed that.

I like the auction credit system, so that money spent on bids where you don't win is not totally wasted.

Would I go back and use the site again? I suppose I would. I had a good enough experience. Its a strange concept but it does actually work. 7/10

I've decided to cut my loses!! or have I really?? what a headache, looked brilliant but I still feel I've been scammed, every single item I seemed to go after just went up and up in price!! finally thought I'd recover some of my investment and tried to see an auction through to the end... the item was worth £49.99 in the end a guy called startrek-fan put in some auto-bids and won it for the princely sum of £45.15!! with the postage being £5.00!! this cost him 40 bids @ 40 pence each! = £16 all in all paying £66.15 so I'm not sure he -she bagged such a bargain after all....still I've learned a lesson and will avoid at all costs.... I will of course come clean and tell everyone I know about this site too and warn them of the pitfalls!! congrats on your successful purchase anyway, you got lucky!!

dirtylittledog= rapidbargain staff member. Anyof these bids sites are a con. You don't know who the other bidders are. Could of the directors friends with endless credits. I really wish MSE would make registering process delayed for a week or something sometimes.

I do love the way people sign up, sing th epraises of an obviously dodgy outfit and then never re appear.

I always think this actually is counter productiove as it makes the outfit look like spammers as well as slightly 'dodgy'.

Personally I don't trust any company that has to spam to attract business.
