Item signed for but lost :(

Hey all,
I am after some advice on the way forward on this one. Bear with me......
My PS2 has a Matrix Inifinity chip installed (the best one). However, the laser died. I sent it off with DHL (for £7.99) to a company who will replace the laser for £29.99 and an extra £7.99 for the return carriage. The item was collected from me and signed for the following day.
However, after 2 weeks on a service that is meant to take 3 days, my PS2 has not arrived back. So i contacted the company who requested a few days to locate my parcel. A few days pass, when i call back, still no parcel.
I give the company the tracking number and the surname of the person who signed for it. Although they acknowledge that the item has been signed for, there is no one at their place of work by the name given
The shop owner has offered me a new PS2 with a duo ultra chip install. Unfortunately this is a inferior chip and they state they do not fit the Matrix Chip. Also, i have not yet broached the subject of the £29.99 being refunded.
I would like a PS2 with a MI chip installed and a refund of £29.99. Am i being unreasonable?
Any ideas on the best way forward?

You need to establish if the shop have received it or not, have DHL lost it or the shop. Either way one of them is responsible for replacing your unit with one of the same standard or cash to purchase one. If it is DHL that have lost it and will replace it then the shop should refund their charge. If the shop replace with one of the same standard or cash to buy another one then they should not refund.0

I would ask DHL to ask driver as he may remember description of who signed etc. do this many a time with other courier companies, he may even have left it at another shop ?......You may be able to claim on their insurance .... ?You know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

Hi - could you let me know the name of the company as I would like to get a chip for my ps2?
Thanks0 -
The shop have not received it. Yet DHL have a signature (although shop state it is not one of their staff).
I don't want to name the store yet.0
