OP has been refunded, what's the 14 days deadline for?

For a reply to what will be my 3rd letter I guess.

Yes, I've been refunded but I would still like to know:

    1) Why they did not deliver within the original confirmed 5 day deadline.
    2) Why they kept my money for 2 months.
    3) Why they told me the product was out for delivery a month ago.
    4) Why they told me the refund was not a problem when I cancelled.
    5) Why they said they had dispatched the goods 2/3 days after I had cancelled and I would have to reject the delivery and wait for the goods to be returned to them before they would process a refund.
    6) Why they have not responded to my two letters (last one was only sent a week or so ago though, so still time to reply).
    7) Why I had to threaten legal action to get a refund (assuming anyone bothered to read the last letter that I sent them).

I've been nothing but polite and accepting since this 'situation' yet have treat and spoken to like I'm some sort of criminal without an apology for any of their many errors. I am perfectly happy that the situation is resolved, but I would like an explanation for their many failings and an apology. I’m not interested in any money or vouchers or anything like that, just some acknowledgment from them that their treatment of me has been disgusting.

It's New Tesco House, Delamare Road, Cheshunt, Herts EN8 9SL. I used to work indirectly for Terry Leahy at Tesco; don't expect a miracle there.

An apology would do just fine. Do you suggest that I write to someone else?

Did you write yet? I wouldn't expect a reply at this time of year until early January.
  • Hi Wig, great avatar :)

I got an interesting result through Barclaycard but had put my files away for Christmas so did not post about, I’ve got them back out now though :)

I got a letter from Barclaycard just before Christmas. It seems a manager took an interest in my phone call when I called to request the chargeback for Tesco and listened back to the recording (maybe he had ordered from them and had been screwed as well). Although it does not say so, reading between the lines, I get the impression that a bit of pressure was applied to get the refund. It certainly seems strange that they did a complete about turn and suddenly refunded. I would like to think that this was a result of the letter I sent them, but I sincerely doubt it.

I have been most impressed with Barclaycard’s customer service. This is the first time I’ve ever had any problems like this and they have been most helpful. I’m almost sorry I closed my Barclaycard account. Credit where credit’s due (no pun intended), I will be writing back to thank Barclaycard – and no, I don’t work for them ;)

Anyway, to answer your question (finally) I’m going to fax them instead. Too many letters seem to be ‘going missing’ at the moment. I’ll call them tomorrow for a fax number and send it through.

Hopefully this will go better than NTL who have been overcharging me for 3 months and keep promising to correct my account over the phone but don’t. I had to ring them on 4 different occasions (on the same day) about a week ago to get a fax number and each time, they gave me a different wrong number. Spent just under an hour and a half queuing on the phone in total to get a number that worked – just what you want before Christmas  .
