Problem with new cordless phone

I have purchased a Phillips SE155 cordless phone Duo. I know how to set up an individual phone but I'm not sure how to do both. Do I program phone numbers in both phones and do I make sure I have them both set up exactly the same with ring tone etc.,
Also if anyone else has the same phone do you have trouble getting the answer machine to answer after so many rings as mine answers straight away even though I have put in it should answer after 5 rings.
Hope this isn't too garbled to understand.
Thanks in anticipation.

i do know that with normal duo phones you have to input the numbers yuo want to save indivicually into each phone. i think you can have a different ring tone on each phone. As for the answer phone you will have to read the instruction booklet, it usually gives a choice of 3 or five rings.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Thank you for your reply. I did input 5 rings but it still answers after 1 or sometimes 2 rings. I think I will return it to Currys as it must have a fault.
Any advice on a good easy to install phone?
  • Panasonic, I doubt there is a fault have you read the manual carefully?
You program one handset and transfer to the others....?
  • Yes I have read the manual carefully. It doesn't say how to programme the second phone or how to transfer to it. I even downloaded the manual on line as I thought it might be clearer but it still doesn't help.

FWIW with my Panasonic you enter them into one phone and can then automatically copy them to the other phones.
