  • Have you tried scanning whilst in safe mode?
  • no I have not tried in safe mode what does that actually mean I'm not that hot on computers I'm trying though. How can this be done sorry for being a bit thick cheers!!
  • Your not being thick as we all have to start somewhere.

Follow this link and it will explain everything in simple terms.

  • There are a number of other thoughts if Safe Mode doesn't work....

Firstly, It is important that if you had another anti-virus software that you uninstall it before installing another manufactures software

As an NTL user you do get support for this product. However there is a clause in the anti virus software which states:-
" ntl Netguard is only available to customers in the ntl cable area. It is not available if you receive ntl Freedom services through a BT phone line."

the File .tga is a graphics file which you have saved at sometime give its location. Try opening the file in your graphics package? Better still delete it - a small price to pay!!

Have you keep your Operating System up-to-date? (Assuming you are using XP) I recall there was a patch for a vunerability to jpg which I believe also affects .tga file

You could also try downloading this

The stinger version is currently 259. It does not install anything. It just runs for a long time.... but may find any virus etc...

    Finally, you could try this....
