My computer (6 months old) is taking ages to load up.....it gets to the desktop stage and then churns away in the background for at last 5 minutes before I can load any applications.

Also its becoming slower and slower when I am multiple apps open and its a bit frustrating

I dont have norton but use AVG and have minimised what starts up in my tray but still problem persists - any ideas what I can do?

  • You need to edit what opens on startup, use TuneUp Utilities (sp?) its really good for all diffrent performance tools, you will probs find u got loads of rubbish background files opening that u dnt need open...Also if you need more to run at the same time without slowing buy more ram

    Possibly something nasty lurking
    Download MALWAREBYTES
    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
UPDATE and QUICK SCAN (For now)
If it finds anything, post the log here and delete the problems
    We can take from there

On the keyboard, press the Flying Windows key together with the Pause Break key and report what is under System and Computer.

It's not a lot of RAM, but it is adequate.

    How goes the AntiMalware scan?
