Hi, I've recently got a new phone, which includes internet browsing. I'm trying to get my hotmail account set up so it appears in the same way as text messages do and when I'm trying to configure this via a wizard, it asks me for
Account Name (which I have input as hotmail)
SMPT server - input SMPT, SMPT port - input 465, Secure connection - SSL, Incoming email server - POP3, POP3 server - mail.hotmail.com, POP3 port - 110, APOP connection - Off, IMAP4 incoming email - NEW
I have put in my e-mail address & password before all this info but the phone still can't seem to find my E-mail account!
The phone is a Samsung and I am on Orange.
What have I done wrong?
Cheers, David

Nothing. Hotmail doesn't offer POP3 and SMTP access on free accounts. You have to use a third party application but AFAIK, there's not one for phones.0

As Conor says you can't use pop3 on a free hotmail account. Only way to access it on your phone is by using your phones web browser and using the normal webmail facility instead."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Ok, many thanks. At least it will save me time trying!0

If your Samsung runs Symbian S60, you may be able to install Windows Live which adds the Hotmail account into your messaging application.
The download link is for Nokia, I haven't tried it on the Samsung i8510 yet, so I don't know if it does a hardware check before installing:

use something like mini.opera.com instead. Much easier in most cases0
