All the YBS rates have dropped today (well I suppose all - haven't checked all) but the Internet Saver is now 0.2% less and the e-isa is 0.5% less. Damn, only moved my ISA there in June! Still better than where it came from!

  • yep, i was expecting that to happen to Internet Saver, noticed it myself this morning.
They have also removed their fixed rate ebond

some rates elsewhere are moving down much more sharply that YBS' though!

Yes indeed that is true - they seem more moderate. Northern Rock were/are the worst, from near top to well below average.

True, but of course that is a situation that has been forced on Northern Rock since under the terms of their bailout, they must not be seen to be competing unfairly with other financial institutions, and they have to limit their market share. Since they are seen as a safe haven for savers and people were flocking to deposit their money with them, they are now having to actively turn away new business to meet these requirements, so don't expect to see competitive interest rates any time soon.

i just checked my e-ISA and it still says 5.55% ? (was it 5.6% to begin with?)

plus, if they do drop, can i move my ISA? bearing in mind that i only have this 1 ISA from this year alone and no previous years.

My e-ISA still shows the 5.75% too. The rates are tiered:

    Amount.......was.........now
    £10-...........5.55%......5.05%
    £9999

    £10000-......5.65%......5.15
    £19999

    £20000+......5.75%......5.25

My Internet Saver also shows the 5.56%/month too
