does moving affect credit rating?

we have now rented out our house and until we move more permanently to france we will be living a part of the year in france and the rest in the uk. at the mometn we are living at my partner's parents house - or have this mainly as a uk base at the moment.
as i have only just moved 3 weeks ago (after staying at the same address for 3 years) will it affect my ability and/or credit rating to get a credit card if i give my partner's parents address in my application. obviously i have no bills in my name there. I am planning to go into a HSBC branch on monday to get their 0% credit card so please let me know which is best address to give them (the mail from my old address is being forwarded on to me too by royal mail if this helps with response). thanks in advance.

I wouldn't think you'd have any major problems, as when you apply for credit, they normally ask for a previous address if you've been at you current one for less than 5 years.

    1. HSBC are extremely keen on ID, and are holding up applications until ID has been sent/verified in branch.
    2. OP might need 6 years address history.
    3. Is OP on electoral roll at partners parents house?
    4. Was OP on electoral roll at all addresses in last 3/6 years, ie a complete traceable history with no gaps?
    5. What address is on driving licence/passport?
    6. Does OP have a recent utility bill in their own name for the address they are applying from? (HSBC wouldn't even accept a council tax bill dated March this year for me).
    7. Is OP in "full-time" employment, bearing in mind part of the year is spent abroad?

That's 7 "problems" for starters. There may be more.
