  • Hi otb666,
it takes a while but your'll get the hang of the cooking soon enough, like Jamiedodger says start small. Soups are a good place to start.

Sorry if it seems Im nagging but theres a few bits I've noticed on your SOA ,

"well the parking is really others half pocket money but there was not a line for that-he buys food at canteen at work and cans of coke-he does work 12 hour shifts "
    £75

"the childcare is my older sons dinner money but apart from that all correct"
    £80

you list the car parking as £75 and then go onto say its OH's pocket money , so what it the true figure of parking ?
is there any actual parking costs at all ?
How many days does OH work ?

£80 + £75=£155 lunch & pocket money for only 2 members of your family for lunch a month, that seems a lot.
This could be cut back , that's extra food ON TOP of the sandwiches you make.

your sons school dinner money is more than your OH's, whos working 12 hour shifts.

Whats the other travel ? £50

Entertainment £80 ? can you really afford this much at the moment.

Sky , as already said , cut back the package ,
work out what channels you actually watch and take it from there., rather than cancel it cut back and then you can always upgrade again in the future, Or get freesat or freeview and cancel sky.

You have nothing for emergency fund, mobiles or haircuts ?

A spend dairy would be a good idea ,
list everything and get OH and kids to tell you what they actually buy at lunch time so that you can incorperate(sp?) these things into their new packed lunches.;)

do you buy newspapers , mags , lottery ? add them up for a month and you'll start to see where the moneys going.

if it seems I'm nagging sorry,
I'm just trying to help, we missed out so much when we first started trying to find out where it was all going, I think we did about 4 different income/expendature forms in three weeks before we got it all.

Keep us updated on your progress ,and rant & vent aswell on here if you need to.
