Hi helpful people,
just a little prob with my Vaillant boiler , when the boiler is trying to fire up , sometimes it has a prob getting going , it makes all the right noises but just as its about to ignite it seems all goes quiet and then after a pause the whole thing starts again. this sometimes happens half a dozen times before the boiler ignites then it lights up and works fine................. its probabely at least 10yrs old but my plumber brother says this is not that old for a boiler... don't even ask why I don't go to him with my problem.
He is both a plumber and my brother , need I say more............

Sounds like it may be a faulty thermocouple. I would get the boiler serviced to be sure. Replacing a thermocouple is probably the easiest/cheapest job on a boiler.PLEASE DO NOT STEAL

Have you had the air pressure switch checked. Also there is sometimes a tube which runs to the flue/fan and this sometimes gets blocked where the hose/tube attaches...0
