Section 75 Missed Flight

we are a family of 4 and we missed our flight due to traffic problems (i have the incident numbers from police) We arrived at airport 5 mins b4 take off the travel agent said they kept the plane back as late as poss apparently there were 30 late passengers eventually ended up 10 missed the flight.
travel agent said best she could do was a flight 3 days later with us covering costs but she could not book it, we went to research flights when we came back she had gone (thomson) we found a flight 4 next day and booked, also booked hotel room and a hire car to go to different airport, will we be covered by section 75 as holiday insurance only covers £500 (it was over double this) booked everything on credit card.

If you missed the flight due to traffic then that's your own responsibility and won't be covered by anything.

thomson insurance covers traffic problems as long as you have a police report just wondered if section 75 does

Yes travel insurance does, your credit card doesn't.

Might be worth checking with your travel insurance whether it is £500 in total, or per person. I checked this before buying ours as I didn't think there was enough to cover the price of the holiday should the worst happen and it was per person on the policy.
