I am thinking about getting a docking station for my ipod. At the moment I am looking at the Bose Sounddock which retails around £150 - does anybody own one of these, and if so are you pleased with it?
Or can anybody recommend an alternative?

Do you have an existing stereo system? I've plugged my Ipod into my Denon hifi and it sounds great!0

yes have a denon system myslef and plug into that already. this is for a different room in the house.0

I've got one of these,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kensington-SX2000-iPod-Speaker-Dock/dp/B000BJHH1K
In tests it came above the Bose docking station because of the difference in cost and also had pretty good reviews. I got mine from Richer sounds for £20 as well.0 -
I have the Bose and it does sound superb.
It will happily fill a very large room with no problem or distortion.
I managed to get it in a sale so it was cheaper than normal.
It is pretty solid and comes with various adaptors for all ipods.
The remote is nice but basic.
I find it is worth setting up various playlists and then selecting one of them otherwise I am at the ipod all the time trying to find the music I want.0 -
thanks for the advice. the reviews suggest its a good model although it £50 on richer sounds, same as amazon. when did you buy it for £20?0

I've got the Kensington Dock in my kitchen.. bought it from Richer Sounds about a year ago.. it's nice, quite large flat panel though - i suspect a Bose will sound better (there's not a great deal of base on the flat panel - you need to put it X cm behind something else to bounce the base off)
edit - it is great value for money though0 -
