Debt Free by December 2009!

  • My plans might be well and truely scuppered with regards to paying off my debts - we've just had an announcement at work regarding redundancies and my job is "at risk" :(:(:(

Worse still, we won't know until nearer the end of FEBRUARY - a whole month away. I'm so not motivated at work just now because I feel so demoralised by the whole thing.

I guess I'm not alone in this position given the current financial climate

Eeek - I've not updated my diary for almost three months!! I need to get back into this, and get motivated again!! Since my last post, I've been advised my job is safe, so I am extremely relieved. I have also decided the following points of action to help me get debt free!!

    * Take management of my creditors myself, currently (stupidly) using a fee charging DMP Company. By doing this I would increase my payments to them, distributing the extra fairly amongst them - so I will pay out £350 per month instead of £308 with a view to reviewing and increasing this in 6 months time.

    * Try to save up money (approx 1/3 of debts) to offer full and final settlement to my creditors, in order to do this, I plan to have a clear out and go to a car boot sale again, I have expenses pending from work (1/2 of these I want to use to do our garden, get grass and some shrubs etc for our daughter so she has a ncie place to play) I also have a pile of CD's I need to get on to music magpie and I have a drawer full of old mobiles/PDA's at work which I will put on mazuma mobile.

Any support or ideas to raise funds for my savings towards my F&F's gratefully received!.....

NB Away up to the attic to get the first box of CD's... might as well make a start! ;)

This isn't exactly money-saving DFW but I thought I'd post it in my diary anyway! I have a 30th party coming up in a few weeks and wanted something nice to wear.... I thought I'd have a look on ebay and found a gorgeous dress with a RRP of £135, which I have won for £1.25 and £5 postage!! It needs a new zip but my sister is a seemstress so she can fix it no probs for me. Just hope it arrives in plenty time in the post!!
