What happens to my sky box when I cancel?

Want to cancel Sky altogether. Do I get to keep the box and if so will it receive the free to air channels?

Cheers

    With the caveat that if its a Sky+ box, the Sky+ functions will no longer work including playing back anything you've got recorded.

    Or you could bin the sky box and get the Humax PVR due out end of the month first impressions are that the EPG is very slick and better than sky+ box. You also get free HD content. The cost is around £300 though but its not bad price for great product

    I have cancelled my Sky package which will leave me with a Sky+ box.
    What functions will I loose?
    Specifically will I still be able to programme, record and series link the free to view channels?

    Thanks

    No, unless you ring sky and pay a £10 monthly fee to use Sky+ functions.

    Its only free for Sky package Subscribers.

  • Sky+ on Freesat with no subscription (or even a Sky+ digibox)!

    I thought you'd all like to know about this super little gadget I got from Bluedelta;
    http://www.bluedelta.co.uk/phantom+.html
    It basically gives you most of Sky+ functionality using a standard basic Sky box and an external recorder, anything from an old VCR if you still have one to the latest HDD (I'm using it with a Liteon HDD/DVD recorder).
    You just select your programs on the Sky EPG, select "AUTOVIEW" in the personal planner screen, and the Phantom controls your recorder automatically. I prefer it to Sky+, as I get a full 200hrs of recording from my 160G HDD.
    Best of all, it doesn't stop working when you cancel your Sky subscription!
