  • I just got a tin of Asda spaghetti, down from 31p to 19p just because of a tiny dent in it!! So it's worth looking out for their dented items shelves. I also got a bottle of Heinz mustard for 77p, and there's nothing wrong with it!

We have a big new Sainsburys and they seem to have very good reductions on bakery items after 8 pm. Yesterday I picked up two cherry bakewells for 10p each and chocolate chip cooky bag for 5p. They also had bread, rolls etc. all feeling very fresh and fine for the freezer for 10p.

I don't seem to be able to find much otherwise in reductions there. Morrisons is usually better, especially for fruit and veg, again later evening 9pm for best reductions.

I have been searching for a thread like this for ages! me and my bf both 3rd year uni students religiously drop into our local tescos for dead on 9pm.
we have found that tesco reduces in % so first its about 25% off then 50% then 90% which on the whole runs like clockwork to be at 9pm accept for saturdays on which it is so busy that people buy at the 25% off mark so there is nothing left later in the day to be reduced.

Cant believe we have been wasting money on food the last two years which could have been used for rent..... ah well!

    had some great hauls

tescos finest cooked chicken £5.00 down to 50p
    bags of salad £1.50---15P
bag of chicken breasts £11.00- £1
    finest steak 4.00- 40p

the list goes on- not only is the quality of food higher as obviously fresh items go out of date quicker but we are paying wayyyyyyyyy less than before- I've become a bit obsesive tho and can hear the staffs hand held machine thingamys beeping a mile off!!!!!!!!

our store typically has 3 to 4 reduced areas

one in the grocerry isle normally 8 boxes or so (salad, hoummous, coleslaw, fruit)
a fridge section where they sometimes move the reduced bakery goods up to too and a dry goods section with reduced beer where packaging has broken, out of date galaxy, mayonaise all kinds of stuff.

sometimes there are some good items to be found on the shelves as well yesterday it was tescos oganic chocolate reduced to clear for 39p a bar!

can be a bit of a bun fight tho- but we only take what we will actually eat and buy some stuff for an old guy a few doors down who doesnt do food shopping any more due to panic attacks.

Only poblem is now everything seems extremely extortionate!
keep calm and carry on :rotfl:
