Hello
Although not strictly OS, i thought this would be the best place to post. I'm sure there was a post about this before, but i cannot find it. I want to know what is the best time/day to get good reductions in the supermarket? I only have an asda nearby. Things are very tight this month, i only have around £20 for groceries for the next 3 weeks, so hoping to pick up some reduced meat and some bargins!
I'd appreciate any help.
thank you

Only way to find out usually is ask the staff, that's if they will tell you. Where I am reductions are about 10% off if that started earlier in the day. Some stores have a set time, some don't.One day I might be more organised...........

I expect it varies form shop to shop. In sainsburys the veg is reduced in the morning, bakery about 8pm and other stuff throughout the day as they get round to it. I used to find some good bargains about 8.30 pm when I finsished at that time. The co op seem do to quite drastic reductions but I think it is the luck of the drawer when they do them. I went in the other afternoon and they had tins of condensed milk reduced to 45 so I smapped them all pdq. They often seem to over buy the banans they always seem to be a lot reduced in the evenings. hth. Sorry never go to asdaAnyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I don't find Asda (where I live) to be good for yellow sticker reductions but they do have amazing special offers...so I would recommend that you look to see what you could buy to fit your budget. My local Sainsburs reduces stuff at about 7 pm on weekdays. My best bet in London is Waitrose where there are many less than half price offers at 2.45-3pm.0

Hello Marks and Spencer tend to reduce their stock at about 4pm. They are on the shelves as normal but have a yellow reduced sticker on.0

The Asda on Smithdown Rd, in Liverpool, I've had organic mince for £1, ready meal curry and rice for 50p, 6 bananas for 20p, and a fennel for 5p. You get loads early in the morning but not a lot of reduction, around 4:30 they go down more and about 7:30pm they're dirt cheap.0

My daughter works on the bakery in the Co-op on a Sunday and at 3pm everything with that days date gets reduced to 30p.
On a seperate note I went to Lidls yesterday and the fruit and veg was (i think) half price. The meat reduced by 40%.2013
