Damn cats! Ruined my sofa

Me and my wife bought a beautiful sofa. The back of the sofa is leather and now its all scratched from my cats. As its brown leather it looks like white pulls and scratches. Has anyone got any tips so this wont look so noticeable. Thank you:beer:

That's what cats do -maybe a scratching post in the house. Only suggestion I can make for the sofa is to position it in such a way as to back it up against a wall. Out of sight and all that.0

Welcome to the cat owning world! In our time we've had a wrecked three piece suite, a wrecked armchair and wrecked stair carpet. This is what cats do I'm afraid. You could try one of these cat scratching posts rubbed with catnip to tempt them away from your furniture or only allow them in that room under supervision.
I suspect any repairs to your leather sofa will be damage limitation exercises now but you could try getting some brown shoe polish (or preferably a brown shoe cream) and try rubbing it into the scratch marks to hide them. However, there's a danger that the stain from this would probaby stain your clothes when you leant back. The other disguise would be to try and find a permanent brown coloured marker/felt tip pen which matches the shade of your sofa and use that to cover up the scratches. I'm afraid the reality of owning cats is that they need to scratch their claws to prevent them from growing too long, and older cats exercise their claws to help relieve the discomfort of arthritis, which they suffer from as much as humans. You could try contacting the sofa supplier to see whether they can supply some replacement leather covers for the affected areas.0 -
Cheers, we have a scatch tree now, very large one. we learnt pretty quick. Thankfully they dont scratch the sofa anymore. Good suggestion about the brown shoe polish, will give it a go.
