Connecting a SATA drive to my computer

    I would hazard a guess that once the drive is reconnected then your motherboard will then 'see' the backup drive

    Checked all the cables are in place and rebooted - still no sign of it, even in Computer Management

    I doubt it has just failed. If it spins then it appears to have power, check the data cable carefully, then recheck everything again if it still doesn't work
