Debit card Question

Hi there,
My debit card with HSBC has the expiry date "11/08" listed on it, I was just wondering whether this means the card has expired or not.
Does it mean...the card expires after the 30th of this month? Or has it expired out right?
I've phoned HSBC asking where my new card was, they've said they sent one out on the 25th of October, but it can take up to 11 days to arrive.
Can I use my current card?
Thanks!

Your current card will expire at the end of the month - though you can start using your new card as soon as you receive it.

Thanks sunil, that's all I needed to know
In regards to phoning the bank - I had only thought of this question after I had hung up. The thing with HSBC is they use a centralised 0845 number, didn't want to go through all of that just for another query! Can I afford to buy? Mortgage Affordability Calculator

The overseas number on your card-add a '0' and drop the 44. If you get free landline/geographical calls. I noticed this one night when I was drunk-all my intelligent ideas and thoughts materialise from nights on the good old fermented pop!!!!

Doesn't it usually say "Expires End of" above the expiry date?0
