Holiday Insurance

Can anyone advise ,what is the best course to take on claiming for cancellation of a flight, I broke my ankle last saturday and the hospital have informed me that i cannot fly, I am booked on the 12th November to fly to the US, should i claim on my holiday insurance or as has been suggested claim on my credit card, anyone who has been in the same situation can you offer any advice. :cool:

    Claim on your travel insurance, you will a need medical certificate.

    Very few credit cards cover this sort of eventuality - those that do provide a separate travel insurance policy on which you claim.

    Sounds like someone has generalised from:

    if the airline goes bust you can claim on your credit card

    to - if there are any problems of any sort connected with your flight you can claim on your credit card.

    Oh, bad luck, what bad timing!
    Claim on your travel insurance, you will need to get a certificate from your doctor to say you cannot fly for medical resons.
    Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
