I wanna buy a good pair of oven gloves

I've tried the silicon ones and find them awkward, you haven't got the flexibility with them and things can feel slippery, you have to make sure you have a good grip. I've recently bought a pricey pair from either JL or House of Fraser, and again find them a bit too thick to manipulate things easily: it's OK once I've got things OUT of the oven, but getting hold of things to get them out is fiddly.
So for my next pair I think I'll be back to the mid-range at Dyas!
It's so true though, cheap pairs are almost worse than useless. I burnt the table in a holiday cottage once because the oven gloves were so cheap and useless, I had to drop the casserole before it burnt my hand and the table suffered!Signature removed for peace of mind0
