    I've tried the silicon ones and find them awkward, you haven't got the flexibility with them and things can feel slippery, you have to make sure you have a good grip. I've recently bought a pricey pair from either JL or House of Fraser, and again find them a bit too thick to manipulate things easily: it's OK once I've got things OUT of the oven, but getting hold of things to get them out is fiddly.

    So for my next pair I think I'll be back to the mid-range at Dyas!

    It's so true though, cheap pairs are almost worse than useless. I burnt the table in a holiday cottage once because the oven gloves were so cheap and useless, I had to drop the casserole before it burnt my hand and the table suffered!
