IVA Advice on HSBC/HFC
Comments

If HSBC is one of your creditors, you need to apply for a bank account with someone else, e.g. Barclays.
When applying for the account, ensure that you state that you do not want any overdraft etc... to ensure that you comply with the terms of your IVA.0 -
My circumstance however varies to yours.
MY IVA debt is to HFC Credit Card (GM Platinum Mastercard)
My hsbc account is in credit, and no overdraft is owing, and the account is already open. I am not looking to open a new account, just keep the one I still have.

the problem is not using credit while on the iva - it is the banks "right to offset", meaning they can help themselves to money in your a/c to pay debts held within their group of companies.
it would be foolish to continue banking with hsbc.
open a new a/c ie.
natwest - step a/c
co-op - cashminder
halifax - easy cash
they will give you good facilities, including a debit card and dd/standing order facilities, and keep your money safe0
