When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
Have a good weekend everyone:j
Fay - hope DS's party went well.:D
Catch up with you all later when I am feeling a little less delicate:p

Hmmm, so what were you celebrating then Sophiesmum? Hope you had fun!! Hangovers are the worst, must be why you're not going down the gym....:D
I'm still spluttering away, two weeks now, I am sooo bored of this cold!
It's grey and miserable here today, so I'm indoors doing housework, as you can see I'm currently dusting the keyboard:rotfl:
I'll be off to see horse in an hour or so, haven't seen him all week, hoping he's not gone feral on me, can feel a lassoing session coming on!
Should be a NSD as I'll take lunch down the yard.

We have ripped out all the storage heaters ! The house is now heated by the woodburner in the living room only.So one small thing today is to produce our own heating and hot water ... with a saw and a big pile of wood
I am also on a 'turn the lights off' week ... hopefully the kids will follow .......and of course - Mrs BHB :rotfl:
Now lets see what else I can do .....
Have a 'careful' day
Best Wishes

Sophiesmum, glad you had a good time at the party, hope the hangover goes soon.
Piquant know about the thing with the cold, spent yesterday with my niece and nephew and now have a cold!!
Again, not really a dfw day for me, as am going to enjoy it out with my family!!
-We are off shopping soon, but my sister is driving so paying for petrol will be cheaper than paying for bus fare.
-Will be using gift vouchers to pay for last remaining presents
-Will be doing mainly window shopping as i have a fairly good will power and there isn't much i need.
-Going out to celebrate my dad's birthday tonight but wont be drinking much as have a long journey home tomorrow, so will be saving money there.
-Will be opting for two courses at the meal, none of us have much money and don't see the point in ordering three courses when there is no way i can eat that much.
-Have checked emails
-Went charity shopping yesterday and picked up a pair of brand new dorothy perkins shoes from the charity shop, originally priced £18.00, but i got them for £2.50!!
Think that is it for me, have a great weekend everyone and hope today is a nice start to the month.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hi everyone, thanks for doing these threads Sophiesmum, they really help me to keep focused. I was going to start it for you today if it wasnt here by the time I had come out of bath. Just finished that and here the post is!
I am visiting a friend in another town today, 80 miles away, staying at hers overnight so will save money on hotel, there is a special ocasion, I managed to find a 29p card that looks a lot dearer, will have to watch myself on the drinks as I will have to be up with DS in morning and drive back tomorrow, as well as watching the pennies. Going all that way though I will have a good ight out and some drinks. Its the last day of my ridiculously expensive week. Will do my best to keep costs down but 100% on track tomorrow.
Going to aim to make £150 on ebay next week, income gone down and loads to list, one of them a high value item.0 -
