They'd only have you on cctv if the cashier realised the moment you left and got them to check. Even then, there's no way they'd "nab" you next time you go in, like someone else said, mistakes can't be rectified once you leave the store ;)

  • i used to work for lidl and if my till was down, i'd have to put the money in myself!
  • I work for Somerfield and occasionally work on the tills and because we are a small store and are all multi skilled if it happened in our store and one till was £10 short then it would be hard to pin it down to one person because most of the time more than one person has been on that till so we would all be warned about it but no-one would be out of pocket accept for the store itself but if it kept on happening our bosses would have to look into it as it could be someone stealing from the till and obviously if the culprit was caught then they would be sacked!!! At the same token, if the till has too much in it, you should get the excess!

no way will the money be taken back from cashier, but there could be consequences for him or someone else.
why no send in a letter stating the day and time with a bit of info on the person in case he is suspected of taking the money his self.
BUT KEEP THE MONEY. we all like to get something for nothing from the big supermarkets.
    an old employee.
