Egg Money Manager

Having recently applied for an egg money card I was tempted to use their Money Manager facility, which allows you to see the balances of your accounts with other online banks in one place, and link straight through to them without having to log in again.
However, I was a little suspicious of their £10 incentive to join Money Manager, so began to wonder what was in it for them. After a little hunting I found the answer in section 5 of their T&Cs. By using Money Manager you are agreeing to allow Egg to "gather and review" infomation from your computer "about how you manage and use your Accounts, including the type of transactions you make using your Accounts".
I was not happy to share this information with Egg, so I've decided to forgo the tenner, and keep the information to myself! Needless to say, this information gathering is not mentioned in the blurb for Money Manager, but hidden away in the small print.
If you are tempted to use this facility I suggest you read section 5 of the T&Cs very closely first.

There's nothing to stop u signing up, getting the tenner and not use the service.
Hold on a minute, I did just that.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I also signed up using an account with £1 in, and got my tenner.0

Use it all the time to run 10 different accounts.
Brilliant service, had it since the £15 offer.
Wouldn't do without it now, no extra emails or
offers from Egg, except Egg Money card excepted
with no credit search.
regards

I had this same concern but when I asked, they said that they do not have access to your financial information at all as all usernames/password etc are locked in a password "safe" on your own computer. It must know which organisations you have linked though as if you acess EMM on another computer it shows all the organisations but does not log in.
I use EMM to monitor all my accounts - very useful rather than logging in to each. What annoys me though is it logs out after 15 minutes (or so they claim - it seems much shorter) - it even does this when you are working in one of the external accounts that you have accessed through it, which is most frustrating when you are half-way through setting up payment instructions and it closes down!

Use it to monitor my accounts - wouldn't be without it.
JulesThe ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
I think its a brilliant service. Well worth getting an egg card for that alone.0
