Has anyone used to voice recorder function on this, in settings the following is shown :-

    Source:MIC*
    ENC:PCM or IMADPCM or MSADPCM
    Channel: Mono*
    Device: INT*
    Sample: 8000 or 11025 or 16000 or 22050 or 32000 or 44100 or 48000

Options marked * can't be changed on mine, has anyone been able to change them?

Why would you want to change them. Clearly the source has to be mic, mono is the only logical option for voice recording and device has to be "internal".

Since there are settings for this area it may be possible to attach a stereo microphone to the earphone socket

to be honest is it still worth it when you can have 1gb with expansion for £25 from kwiksave 256mb ok for kids or if you want to change the songs all the time. still its a bargain.

Thats if you can get the 1GB one....I couldn't get either locally and had to resort to Ebay.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

When you say "I've just dragged and dropped the tracks on to the player" I assume that's AFTER you've converted them to MP3/WMA format

Are you just trying to drag the actual album tracks over? If so, it will copy them and you will see the filenames, just as with any file. However, it won't play them back as it is looking for mp3 tracks.

mp3 tracks are made by converting a normal CD track (or sometimes a .wav file) into a compressed format known as mp3. A lot of people use a 'codec' such as 'lame' which is a free software program to convert music files to mp3. Other programs which do this for you sometimes use codecs by commercial manufacturers such as Fraunhoffer which require payment for the software.

    Hope this helps.

A few days ago there were some left at Peterborough Serpentine Green....always worth giving the local stores a quick phone call if you are still looking.

What program are you using to convert your CDs into MP3/WMA format?

Windows Media Player is the one that most people will already have installed on their computer but dbpoweramp looks to be quite a popular free alternative:
