No to AMEX Nectar card

Just rang to find out the status of my Nectar CC application, and was told that I havent met the internal scoring criteria (or something like that) and so my application has been unsuccessful.

Does anyone have any idea what this means? Is it something to do with my credit rating? I would be surprised if it was as I'm not in debt, and pay off my current credit card in full every month!

Anyone able to shed any light?

That's the problem, you're not in debt so there's not much chance of charging interest.

They like people who are in a bit of debt, can pay a bit of interest, and can manage debt.

I pay off everything in full as well (apart from last month where I could only fo 1/3 of the CC due to an unexpected bill) and they gave me one......with a limit of......£4500!!!!! The largest limit on my other cards is £500.
