Help my mum please?

Hi all

my Mum bought a number of things from the Marisota Catalouge but immedatley changed her mind and returned three of the four items via their courier service and the fourth via Royal Mail, (getting proof of postage).

She then received a number of letters saying that she still owes £55 for the item sent back via Royal Mail, and now has bailiffs threatening her.

She wrote to them (stupidly enclosing the Royal mail proof of posting without taking a copy) and they insist that she still owes them the money.

What can we do?

Regards
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,

but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ..... wow what a Ride!

has she contacted the catalogue company?
So she sent the original POP back without recorded delivery also I presume?
To be honest, she has no proof now that she sent the item back- so the debt is enforceable.

With no proof of postage now, she doesn't really have a leg to stand on, so will probably have to pay the £55. Why on earth did she send it off to them??? Did she take a copy??

Why didn't she sent the 4th item back with the courier too?

Even if she HAD retained the proof of postage, it only insures you up to £32, so that's all she could have claimed back from RM for the lost item.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Ah, the joy of multitasking in windows, when we have more than one open we forget which one to reply to.
