Hsbc *******

Hello everyone, my business is really struggling at the moment due to the current situation. I took my eye off my personal account and I have just received a letter stating that I have gone overdrawn ( just over £200 ) and the bloody bankers have charged me £150 fee. Surely they cannot get away with this! I have called and of course they were no help at all, I know its my responsabilty but £150 for £200!!! Apparently its because I had several dd come out. They were over a period of 30 days and the bank could have phoned me or wrote a letter, it feels like they want to maximise an oppurtunity to charge me. had they rejected a dd then that company would have contacted me and I would be able to pay some cash in!
Anyone feel I could get these charges refunded?
I might protest outside the local bank, what do you think?

  • I sympathise with your dillemma but I work in the City and see many sad people outside in the cold protesting and everyone just walks past them!! The Bank will ignore you if you protest believe me, you are a very small fry to them.

Write a letter to the Customer Services department, don't be irate or angry as you are likely to sort out your problem with being calm and rational.

In future, try to keep your account in check so you don't go into your overdraft!

Personally, I wouldn't bother to protest, it's cold outside and would probably achieve very little. Stay in the warm and read Martin's Step by step reclaim guide, link in my signature.
  • Nickmack offers sound advice there Stu - good luck in reclaiming your charges. I hope it works out.
