self employed can't get credit

i became self employed abouy 7 months ago, since then i can't get a personal credit card, i'm debt free and did want an amex blue for cash back, but they wouldn't have any of it (have to br self employed for a year)

can anybody help me please

My brother become self-employed 2 or 3 months ago and coming from the financial world I knew this would be a problem of sorts to the banks for some reason.

I had pre - emptied this to an extent by helping him build a good credit history prior to leaving full time employment with a company.

I know this doesn't help you now but it is just an aside for anybody contemplating self - employment in the future. Try and build up good repayment histories on a few different cards.

Anyhow, hopefully to help you, the first card my brother applied for after he was self-employed for just over 2 months was the nationwide cc, via the pc, and he was accepted. All info asked for was inputted his end with no embellishment of the facts whatsoever. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised that they accepted his application without wanting further proof of his self-employment status and expected salary, though maybe different forms of self-employment rate differently in the eyes of the financial world.

So if you haven't already got this card I guess it is worth a shot.
