Hi,
Any ideas what I can use to descale the outside of my bathroom taps as they're covered in gunk which won't come with ordinary cleaning?
Thanks
Christine

cillit bang or any other limescale product. If they don't work with a quick spray try tying a sandwich bag around the tap and fill with product.0

Wrap a bit of toilet paper, or tissue around the tap, fix with an elastic band, or bit of string, soak with vinegar and leave for an hour or so.
Softens it nicely, so you can rub it off.0 -

Any cheapo thick toilet cleaner that claims to get rid of limescale - it will cling on for long enough to get rid of the worst - rinse and repeat.Adventure before Dementia!0

Good afternoon: It depends...are the taps in situ or flying solo?

c/o the Old Style Board - white vinegar. Soak some cotton wool in white vinegar, put in position and wrap the whole tap in cling film. Leave in position for minimum 2 hours or overnight if really bad.
Be careful with brass taps though - don't leave overnight, keep checking regularly as, like any cleaner, it will tarnish the taps to the point of being unrecoverable if you leave for too long.
The scale will easily scrub off once the vinegar has done the work.
