ebay satisfaction survey

I wonder if there is any correlation between the ebay surveys and future promotions/policies on ebay ?

I emailed ebay through my private account to complain about not being selected for the 5p listings promotion. This morning I got a survey from them. Interestingly it was about banner's and advertising and how to attract buyers but featured entirely on new goods with Wii's being featured in most of the questions. The statement they appeared to want me to agree was great advertising was that " brand new wii's are on average 26% cheaper on ebay that elsewhere online". Everytime I tried to deviate from new items the questions went back again to concentrate on 'new' items only.

I did my bit, honest, I said that as a buyer I look on ebay along with all the other online sites but buy high end items elsewhere (which is true), they asked about DVDs and again I said I was more likely to buy elsewhere with Amazon for second hand and Play for brand new. The system then gave up trying to force me to say that I would buy new goods on ebay as they are 26% cheaper than anywhere else and asked me what I do buy, so I told them all my recent purchase history, mainly second hand collectables, odd things, hobby items and certain categories of clothes that I ship in from the US.

It looks like ebay are continuing with their policy of going to an online marketplace for new goods to compete with Amazon, Play and Dixons (not sure why they feel they need to compete with Dixons)

I have say that I would never ever look for CDs, DVDs etc on ebay. They're so cheap to buy new anyway and a lot less hassle elsewhere. I use ebay mainly for buying craft stuff and baby clothes... maybe they don't want me as a buyer OR a seller these days. :eek:

I dont think I have ever replied "nicely" to an ebay satisfaction survey yet! this is because I am annoyed with ebay who take more fees then paypal, but do less work, and also in many cases, cause me more trouble then if they just left me to contact someone else: ie paypal.

I am annoyed they charge me high fees then back out and refuse to help me when they have agreed I am right, claiming ebay is just a market place for people to meet, and that they do not step in and offer assistantce. Paypal do. I pay less for paypal. I am also angry I cannot leave negative feedback to buyers who do not pay, try to wangle a discount when they have only paid 99p and yet they can leave me a negative when I have done nothing wrong but refuse to give them a new item for free and no delivery. Blackmale is not the word to describe!!

Added to that the automated resonses I get when I do ask for help...

But I digress...

As I say, I never give back a psative to the satisfaction surveys as I am not satisfied and I am being honest in the survey. I still have been invited to promos like for example the current one on 5p listings until the 9th nov.
